On a sunny spring day in 2000 I jumped over a 3 foot fence on my rural property in Southern Oregon. Two years and several surgeries later I decided to amputate my right foot and ankle and move on with life. I had the Ertl Reconstruction Procedure. 14 month after my amputation I became one of the first amputees to cycle 3800 miles across America in 52 days.
Born in Vermont In 1962 I was the youngest of five children. Before my amputation I was a custom furniture maker and artist.
Today I am a long distance endurance cyclist and motivational speaker.
